Itinerary
Set out early from Arusha for a scenic drive through the Ngorongoro Highlands en route to Serengeti
National Park. Along the way, enjoy sweeping views and glimpses of Maasai villages. Enter the Serengeti
by midday and begin game drives across the endless plains—home to lions, elephants, zebras,
wildebeests, and possibly cheetahs or leopards. By late afternoon, you’ll settle into your public campsite
within the park, where dinner awaits under the stars.
Wake up to the sounds of the wild and head out on an early morning game drive while predators are still
active. After breakfast at camp, enjoy more game viewing as you make your way out of the Serengeti
toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You’ll pass through dramatic scenery and may stop at
viewpoints along the crater rim. Overnight will be at a budget campsite on the rim or nearby, with dinner
served at camp.
Descend into the world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera for a full morning of game driving. The
Ngorongoro Crater offers a chance to see the Big Five in a single day—lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard,
and rhino plus hippos, flamingos, and more. After a picnic lunch surrounded by nature, you’ll ascend
the crater wall and begin the return drive to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon with your safari dreams
fulfilled.
