Tarangire National Park Day Trip

Itinerary

6:30 AM – Depart Arusha
Start your day early with a drive southwest toward Tarangire. The 2.5–3 hour trip takes you through rolling hills, small towns, and Maasai grazing lands.

9:00 AM – Arrive at Tarangire National Park
Enter the park and begin your game drive. Right from the gate, you may spot elephants, impalas, and giraffes among towering baobab trees.

9:30 AM – Morning Game Drive
Your guide takes you deeper into the park. Tarangire is known for its elephant herds, but you’ll also likely see wildebeest, zebras, ostriches, and possibly big cats near the Tarangire River.

12:30 PM – Bush Picnic Lunch
Stop at a designated picnic site inside the park. Enjoy a packed lunch surrounded by nature—expect great views, birdsong, and maybe a few passing animals.

1:30 PM – Afternoon Game Drive
Continue exploring different areas of the park. You may visit the Silale Swamp or river valley, which attract lots of wildlife, especially during the dry season.

3:00 PM – Begin Return Toward the Gate
Wrap up your drive with a few final sightings and photo opportunities on your way out of the park.

4:00 PM – Exit Tarangire and Depart for Arusha
Leave the park and begin the drive back, tired but full of stories.

6:30 PM – Arrive Back in Arusha
Return to your lodge or hotel, ending a full and unforgettable safari day.
