Tarangire, Serengeti & Ngorongoro
Enjoy comfortable budget accommodations and the expertise of a professional guide, making every moment
memorable without stretching your budget.
Your adventure begins with a morning pickup from Arusha and a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park,
known for its large elephant herds and striking baobab trees. Spend the day on game drives exploring the
park’s diverse habitats, spotting wildlife like lions, giraffes, zebras, and various bird species. As the sun
sets, settle into your budget-friendly campsite or lodge on the park’s edge and enjoy a hearty dinner
surrounded by nature’s sounds.
After an early breakfast, depart Tarangire and head toward the legendary Serengeti National Park. En
route, enjoy beautiful views of the Tanzanian countryside and possibly spot Maasai villages. Arriving in
the Serengeti by midday, embark on an afternoon game drive across the endless plains, where you may
encounter prides of lions, graceful antelopes, and vast herds of wildebeest and zebra. Overnight
accommodation will be at a budget campsite or simple lodge inside or near the park.
Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti’s iconic landscapes. With your experienced guide, track wildlife
throughout the park, from early morning predator activity to afternoon sightings of elephants, cheetahs,
and countless bird species. This is a perfect day for photography and wildlife observation, with
opportunities to see the famous migration if your timing is right. Return to your campsite or lodge in the
evening for dinner and rest under the vast African sky.
On your final day, depart the Serengeti and drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the
Ngorongoro Crater for a memorable game drive in this natural wonder, home to an extraordinary
concentration of wildlife, including the Big Five. After a picnic lunch amidst stunning scenery, begin your
journey back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening, completing your unforgettable
Tanzanian adventure.
Typically: all park fees, game drives in a 4x4 vehicle, basic camping gear, a cook, meals, and an English-speaking guide/driver. Flights, visas, travel insurance, and tips are usually not included.
You'll sleep in dome-style tents at public campsites inside or near the parks. Bathrooms are shared, and sleeping mats are provided. It’s basic but safe and gets you close to the action.
Day 1 is usually spent in Tarangire, Days 2–3 in the Serengeti, and Day 4 includes a game drive in Ngorongoro Crater before returning. There’s a good balance of time in each location given the short duration.
Not especially. Most of the time is spent in a safari vehicle. The early mornings and long drives can be tiring, but it’s manageable for most travelers in good health.
