The longer itinerary allows your body ample time to adapt, making it one of the most rewarding and
achievable climbs for fit adventurers.

rainforest alive with birds and monkeys. Camp at Big Tree Camp (2,700m), immersed in nature’s

lobelias and bizarre vegetation unique to Kilimanjaro’s highlands.

the gateway to the iconic Barranco Wall, offering photo-worthy scenery.
Climb the dramatic Barranco Wall a thrilling scramble offering unmatched views. Cross alpine ridges
and valleys before reaching Karanga Camp (4,035m), a crucial acclimatization stop.
Continue to Barafu Camp (4,673m), perched at the edge of the alpine desert and your staging ground for
the summit. Prepare your gear and rest early.
Depart just after midnight for the final ascent. Climb through the darkness, greeted by sunrise at Stella
Point. Reach the summit at Uhuru Peak (5,895m), where the panoramic views reward every effort.
Descend to Mweka Camp (3,100m) to relax after your epic climb.
Descend through the forest to Mweka Gate. Receive your summit certificates and transfer back to Moshi
for celebrations, hot showers, and a comfortable bed.
Lemosho is one of the most scenic and least crowded routes on Kilimanjaro. The 8-day version offers excellent acclimatization and higher summit success rates. It also gives you varied terrain, from rainforest to alpine desert, and incredible panoramic views.
While no technical climbing is involved, it's a physically demanding trek with long days at high altitude. The 8-day itinerary helps ease the strain with a slower, more manageable pace. Good fitness, mental resilience, and proper gear are key.
Packages usually cover park fees, all meals on the mountain, tents and camping equipment, guides, porters, a cook, and rescue fees. Some also include airport transfers and a hotel stay before and after the climb—check with your provider.
You'll sleep in tents provided by the trekking crew. Camps are set up each night by porters, and meals are served in a communal mess tent. While it's not luxury, the setup is efficient and designed for comfort at altitude.
The best seasons are January to early March and June to October drier months with more stable weather and clearer views. That said, Lemosho is doable year-round with proper gear and planning.
