5-Day Tanzania Midrange Safari

Your adventure begins with a warm welcome at Kilimanjaro International Airport or
Arusha, where your guide awaits. After a short briefing, you’ll head to Tarangire National
Park. Known for its iconic baobab trees and massive elephant herds, Tarangire offers
excellent game viewing right from the start. You’ll enjoy an afternoon game drive through
the park before heading to your comfortable lodge or tented camp for a restful evening
under the stars.

After breakfast, depart through the highlands toward the endless plains of the Serengeti,
Tanzania’s most famous national park. Along the way, you’ll pass scenic vistas and perhaps
catch glimpses of wildlife en route. Upon arrival in the Serengeti, you’ll embark on a game
drive as you head to your midrange tented camp. The Serengeti is teeming with wildlife,
from lions and cheetahs to zebras and wildebeests, and every turn offers something new.

Spend the entire day exploring the Serengeti’s vast ecosystem. Depending on the season,
you may witness part of the Great Migration or catch predators in action. Your guide will
tailor the route based on animal movement, ensuring you get the most out of your game
viewing experience. Return to your camp in the evening for a hot shower, delicious dinner,
and stories around the campfire.

After an early morning game drive in the Serengeti, you’ll begin your journey toward the
Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for
a game drive in one of Africa’s best wildlife sanctuaries. The crater floor offers high chances
of seeing the Big Five in a single day. After your safari, you’ll ascend to the crater rim and
check into a nearby lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, make your way to Lake Manyara National Park, a scenic gem nestled at the
base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Though compact, the park boasts an incredible
diversity of habitats and wildlife, from its groundwater forests to the shimmering alkaline
lake. Keep your eyes out for elephants, hippos, giraffes, and the park’s famous tree-climbing
lions. Bird lovers will especially enjoy the flocks of flamingos and other waterfowl. After an
exciting morning game drive, you’ll drive back to Arusha, arriving by late afternoon. Your
guide will drop you at your hotel or Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward journey.
